Aharon Bezalel Israeli Modernist Bronze Female Nude Sculpture, Late 1950s–1960s.

Overall Height Approximately 30 1/8"
Bronze Height Approximately 27 3/4" above the base
Base Approximately 2 3/8" H x 8" L x 3 1/2" W

Striking mid-century Israeli Modernist figurative sculpture attributed to and signed/marked for Aharon Bezalel (Israeli, 1925–2012), depicting an exceptionally elongated standing female nude with one arm dramatically raised above her head.

The figure is conceived with Bezalel's distinctive emphasis on the human form: an attenuated torso and exceptionally long legs, a long elegant neck, small stylized head, strongly profiled nose, modeled coiffure, and simplified yet expressive anatomy. The upward-reaching pose gives the sculpture a graceful sense of movement and verticality.

The bronze retains a richly hand-worked surface with elongated modeling striations, scraped and gouged passages, irregular sculpting marks, and selectively smoother high points preserved in the casting.

These textural variations are intentional characteristics of the artist's modeling rather than damage. The dark brown patina has subtle tonal variation and highlights that emphasize the sculptural surface.

The figure is mounted on a substantial rectangular beige stone plinth with naturally occurring fossil-like inclusions and is mechanically secured through the base.

Kicked up leg underside signed/inscribed in the bronze with a compressed Bezalel-related signature/mark and numerical notation. The numbering appears possibly to read 1/19 with an additional circular character or symbol.

Excellent vintage condition. Presents very well with age-appropriate patina and surface variation. The irregular ridges, incisions, depressions, and modeling marks visible throughout the figure are integral to the artist's sculptural technique and casting. Please review photographs for the most complete assessment of condition.
