Antique A. Lanternier Limoges Hand-Painted Nautical Sailing Ship Porcelain Fish Platter
Made in France c. 1900.
Approximately 2 1/4" High x 24" Long x 10 5/8" Wide.
Impressive antique French Limoges porcelain serving fish platter by A. Lanternier & Co., dating to approximately 1891–1914.
The elongated oval fish platter features a finely detailed hand-painted maritime scene of a traditional sailing vessel with warm red, ochre and brown sails, resting on tranquil water before a hazy coastal landscape.
Delicate shoreline foliage and atmospheric reflections complete the composition.
The deeply scalloped, molded rim is richly finished in gold gilding with decorative gilt flourishes, framing the nautical scene.
The underside bears the green A.L. anchor mark with LIMOGES and DÉPOSÉ, along with an impressed factory mark, possible mold mark 6.
Excellent antique condition. Very slight faint areas of missing gilt. No chips, cracks or restoration reported.
