Antique Gillinder & Sons Frosted Lion Pattern Covered Glass Compote
Made in United States of America c. 1876–1900.
Approximately 12 1/4" High including the lion finial x 7 1/2" Wide at the bowl.
Antique American Victorian pressed glass covered compote attributed to Gillinder & Sons of Philadelphia, in the celebrated Frosted Lion pattern, introduced in the late 1870s.
Clear and satin-frosted pressed glass.
The clear glass bowl and fitted lid contrast beautifully with the satin-frosted reclining lion finial and sculptural lion-form pedestal.
The classical figural decoration makes this an appealing example of late nineteenth-century American decorative glass.
Excellent antique condition overall, with one very slight flea bite to the inside upper edge. No other chips or cracks observed. Please review photographs when available.
