Art Deco JF Co Seated Great Dane Cast Metal Bookend

Made in USA c. 1920s–1930s.

American Art Deco seated Great Dane bookend, circa 1920s–1930s, bearing the impressed JF Co mark within a diamond on the underside.

The stylized canine features an elongated neck, upright ears, angular modeling, and an integral rectangular base.

Finished in a deep brown-black patina with warm metal tones visible at areas of wear.

Hollow-cast, nonmagnetic metal; bronze or a bronze-finished alloy.

Excellent vintage condition with age-related wear to the dark patinated surface, scattered rubbing and minor surface marks, areas of brown/copper-colored finish loss along edges and underside, and visible greenish oxidation on the underside. The hollow underside has irregular casting texture and an opening consistent with its construction. Please review condition details; no restoration or metal testing is represented.
