Vintage Pair of Maitland-Smith Italian Baroque Style Figural Table Lamps 

Made Italy 1980s-1990s.

Approx. 31 3/4" High x 8" Wide x 7" Deep.

A magnificent pair of vintage Maitland-Smith figural table lamps, hand-crafted in Italy, circa 1980s.

Masterfully executed in the grand Venetian Baroque revival taste, each lamp features a beautifully sculpted classical figure standing in a mirrored contrapposto stance.

The figures wear deeply draped robes finished in antiqued crimson paint and bright gold leaf trim, each lifting a carved architectural torch column topped with its original frosted glass flame-form shade.

The sculptures are raised on tiered pedestal bases beautifully detailed with classical faux-marbling panel accents.

Marked to the underside with the original 'Maitland-Smith Made in Italy' label.

Both lamps retain their factory-original translucent gold cord wiring.

Very good vintage condition with minor surface flakes to the gilt finish, characteristic of Maitland-Smith's intentional antiqued styling. One figure displays an old, stable loss/break to the forward big toe at the base plinth level, which does not disrupt the exceptional display profile of this highly collectible designer pair.
